This is the documentation for the latest (main) development branch of mcuxpresso sdk. If you are looking for the documentation of previous releases, use the drop-down menu on the left and select the desired version.

Hardware requirements

  • Mini/micro USB cable

  • Target microcontroller board

  • Personal Computer

  • FreeMASTER 3.1.2 with TCP/UDP communication plug-in installed

Board settings

No special settings are required. By default this demo communicates over an Ethernet network. Make sure to connect the Ethernet cable to the board and interconnect it with the PC using a network switch. The demo uses static IP address or an address obtained from DHCP. Refer to network.c (EXAMPLE_USE_DHCP) file for more details about default IP address.

This demo uses 1G Ethernet port.

Prepare the demo

  1. Interconnect the board with a switch and the host computer.

  2. Compile and download the program to the target microcontroller.

  3. Run and resume application execution when debugger stops in the main() function.

Connect with FreeMASTER

  1. Run FreeMASTER, use the Connection Wizard or open Project Options.

  2. Select network communication and configure the plug-in for TCP or UDP protocol with the port that matches the settings in the freemaster_cfg.h.

  3. Start communication, FreeMASTER loads the initial TSA Active Content links in the Welcome page.

  4. Click the “FreeMASTER Demonstration Project (embedded in device)” in the Welcome page.

  5. The demo is now running, you should be able to watch variable values and graphs.
